Meet The Team
Alex Bonilla
Alex Bonilla was born and raised in San Francisco. Since graduating from UC Berkeley School of Law, he has represented clients throughout the Bay Area. As the son of immigrants, he understands the sacrifice that goes into every individual’s work. He devotes each day of his law practice to empowering his clients.
Following law school, he represented injured workers. He also represented clients with personal injury cases. He then worked for an insurance defense firm where he represented insurance companies, self-insured employers, and third-party administrators. His experience as an insurance defense attorney gave him an understanding of how workers’ compensation claims are handled by insurance companies. He currently represents injured workers throughout the Bay Area.

Joanna Hohenstein
Joanna Hohenstein was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2012. She was a double major and received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Political Science from Sonoma State University. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Gonzaga University School of Law, where she also clerked in the Legal Clinic.
Although Ms. Hohenstein has previously litigated trusts, estates, and personal injury issues, she is dedicated to the advocacy of injured workers.
Outside of practicing law, Ms. Hohenstein enjoys swimming, running, and spending time with friends and family.
Teresa Flores
Meet Teresa Flores, a Case Manager and Hearing Representative at The Law Offices of Alex Bonilla. Teresa’s journey in the company began as the sole Case Manager. Her role has evolved into fostering a team of Case Managers who strive for the best for our clients.
She admires the tenacity of our team in supporting our clients through their workers’ compensation cases.
Beyond work, Teresa finds joy in spending quality time with her family. Some of Teresa’s special interests include powerlifting, baking, and Mexican-American History/Charrería.
Carmen Acosta
Meet Carmen Acosta, a Case Manager and Hearing Representative at The Law Offices of Alex Bonilla. Carmen’s focus at the firm has been to guide our clients through the complex Workers’ Compensation legal system, while demonstrating empathy and compassion.
Outside of work, she enjoys being a mom, pilates, and crocheting.
